During this year’s animation study, I have not only gained an in-depth understanding of animation principles, techniques and related knowledge, but also learned about international animation trends through various channels, from which I have tried to analyze an animation career planning path that I think is most beneficial to me.
One of my original intentions to study animation is that the profession of animator is highly inclusive, and its employment path is not limited to working in the animation industry. The employment direction of film and television industry, advertising, games, illustration or pure art is also suitable for animators to study in the future to some extent.
I originally thought that choosing a career with a wide range of employment would make my future employment more and more broad, but after gradually seeing the trend of the international animation industry, I found that the current animation talent market has become saturated. The average level of animators in the industry is also rising day by day. I think it is not wise for me to jump into this bottomless industry with my current understanding and proficiency in animation after graduation. This era benefits from the development of network technology. Making content-driven quality works is a more stable way out.
The top priority of my current plan is to develop my professional level and improve my aesthetic standards. After graduation, I will work as an intern in a company to accumulate experience while improving myself, explore the possibility of my own style and techniques, and try my best to make a portfolio that can represent my maturity.
In terms of direction, I will try my best to gradually move my works towards commercialization, so as to obtain a stable creative environment while maintaining my original intention.
